SERVICE TO ASSIST WITH COUNTING STARS
While there’s probably never really a seriously good reason to manually count stars in a photograph, it’s certainly interesting to extract the stars out of an image and place them on a tidy background!
Trying to determine the number of stars in an image can be a daunting task when done manually. OWEBSOLUTIONS has attempted to develop an algorithm that detects stars in the image and then seeks to remove them from the background onto a new layer where they can be visualised.
3 MAIN FEATURES
- EXTRACT THE STARS.
- CLEAN THE BACKGROUND.
- CONVERT TO BLACK AND WHITE.
EXTRACT THE STARS
Starcount will attempt to locate the stars in the image that is uploaded. It does this by scanning for luminosity across the image and once it has gathered the coordinates of bright pixels it uses this data to extract the stars.
CLEAN THE BACKGROUND
Starcount will process the uploaded image and locate the dark spots in the image and colourise them into pure black to make the stars clearer.
CONVERT TO BLACK AND WHITE
Starcount will convert the dark pixels into pure white and colourise the stars into a black pixels so that all stars can be easily identified in the image.
